Located in Melbourne’s AAMI Park sporting precinct, IOP is Australia’s first imaging and treatment day procedure centre. IOP offers a comprehensive range of musculoskeletal imaging services including 3T MRI, CT and ultrasound; and innovative treatments and procedures.

Imaging @ Olympic Park offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse to work within a dynamic and state-of-the-art imaging facility on a Part-time or Full-time basis.

  • You will be responsible for covering leave and sedation lists

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing various imaging procedures, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout their visit. This role requires flexibility, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate and competent nursing care to patients undergoing imaging procedures, including but not limited to MRI, CT, X-ray, and ultrasound.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history review and vital sign monitoring, to ensure patients are prepared for their procedures and to identify any potential risks or complications.
  • Assist radiologists and imaging technologists during procedures, ensuring patients are positioned correctly and providing support as needed.
  • Educate patients and their families about imaging procedures, including what to expect during the process, any necessary preparations, and post-procedure care instructions.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including radiation safety measures and infection control practices, to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Accurately document all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses in electronic medical records (EMR) systems in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including radiologists, technologists, and support staff, to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care delivery.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of nursing care and optimize patient outcomes within the imaging department.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Victoria is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in an imaging or radiology setting, with experience in assisting with interventional procedures.
  • Experience in the admission, recovery, and discharge of inpatients is essential.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is mandatory. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
