The Capitol Health Sonographer Trainee Program is an internal professional development program offered to Sonographers looking to upskill.

The Program is overseen by highly experienced Capitol Health Sonographers who inform and coordinate the education as well as assess trainee competency and mentoring.

Trainees must be undertaking formal sonographer studies with an endorsed provider whilst they are enrolled in the program. All trainees are rotated through a group of specialist sonographer mentors. Each mentor is a senior leader in their area of expertise and located across the Capitol Health network.

The format of rotational clinical training enables the trainee to embed knowledge and enrich skills in a supported and collegiate environment.

Program objectives include:

  • Ongoing delivery of quality imaging through supported sonographer learning and development
  • Build and support the next generation of highly skilled sonographers at Capitol Health
  • Better meet the growing demand of patients requiring sonography scans
